Through the the Expedition at Dusk

We set out with three days of food and came back twelve days later, full of stories.

Nothing important happened, or so I thought at the time. Later I understood that everything important had been happening quietly, at the edges.

On Fridays we would sit on the veranda and watch the road, and count the cars, and lose count, and start again.
